Is this a MEVI? (Pic included)

I've recently moved to Eastern Europe on a job contract for a couple of years. I noticed that every euro spec maxima has what looks like a MEVI.

Is this a mevi? (the pic doesn't do much but hopefully some of you experts can tell)
This is a pic of a V6 3.0l Max

If it is, can I just swap it? Or do I need special parts?
Basically, what would you take off that maxima in the pic?
(the guy wants $120 for that MEVI {if it is a MEVI})

yes it is a mevi just take the upper intake manifold .i don't know if you can reuse the gasket but i wouldn't. check inside the top part of the mevi to look at the butterfly plates and make sure all the butterfly plates are there and the little screws that hold them. if not you might have to get it from courtesy nissan . damn whose car is that on bricks ?

Thanks!
That's a guy local to where I live that owns a junk yard - Like I mentioned, he said for $120 I can take that thing off. The thing is, I don't know what to really take off.

(Whoever helps me on what to take off, I will find you another one and ship it to US)

The whole car is for parts.
But I have a guy who specializes in ECU's so he wants to "upgrade" my ECU. He has his own "tuning shop" and the prices are really cheap compared to the US. He wants $180 to "upgrade" my ECU, he claims it'll run MUCH better & I will see gains.
DYNO's are really cheap here too so I'm going to experiment a bit.
I will get a reading of my max the way it is now.
I will then get a reading after I install that MEVI & the ECU from that max, and then I will get a reading after this guy "upgrades" my ECU.

We will see what happens.

My car will arrive here on September 4th so by the end of Sept. I should have all the above mentioned completed.

(I'm going to rip that max apart this weekend).

I still don't know what to take off with that MEVI. Anyone wants to help?

I will add that I drove a euro spec max with that MEVI last weekend and it runs pretty much the same as mine except this max rips even at 150 km/h. Mine is sluggish after about 85-90mph. From my experience, it just feels like it's much faster when you get it up there on the speedo.
Low end is the same.

I only have a y-pipe & a hacked airbox(which probably doesn't do anything anyway)

Anything you see connected to it, take it. You can throw away stuff later after you get it on your car. I'm really curious to see how it was programmed the ECU for those cars.

Will do.
He has done maxima's in the past he said.
The guy is an expert in DIESEL engines but gas engines are no problem for him either.

SIDE NOTE: he holds the number 1 place in the country for the fastest 1/4 mile time with a diesel engine.

I figured those cars performed that way on the highway and after installing the MEVI, I had proof. They make our US cars have a more Euro feel to them on the road.

I'm surprised how cheap labor is here with mechanics.

Another guy I know converted his Nissan Almera to 5spd & it he said it was very cheap.
He gave me the contact number to the shop he got it done at & when I called, I found out that this is all this shop specializes in is conversions. The guy basically buys a maxima that's been wrecked, converts the parts to my auto & IF I give him my auto transmission, after converting to US dollars, it will cost me about $550.
(I am debating if I should or should not convert though)
He later sells all the remaining parts from that wrecked maxima.

I am located in Warsaw, Poland on a 2 year job contract (for now).
Beautiful place.

I will call the guy tomorrow but he said that whatever I want that goes with that part will cost me $120.
I have to ask him about the ECU and how much he wants extra for the ECU.

Here u go man, i found it on teh FAQ stickies
Variable Intake Manifold (AKA - MEVI, VI or VIM) - This is the newest Mod discovered for the fourth Gen Maxima, it is a stock part on Maximas made for the Middle East (hence MEVI). There is a modest HP gain with this (about 10hp) but more importantly it allows the Maxima to make peak power all the way to redline. There are a ton of threads on this, search. 'VI' is to short for the board search engine but try using variable, MEVI, or VIM. There is a detailed description on how it works several posts down in this thread.

Hope that helps

The MEVI is about almost 3 years new. It's been know about and used for a while now. Plus mine really isn't a MEVI, it's a JVI being that it came straight from Japan.

Besure you are getting the manifold off of a VQ30 and not a VQ25 or VQ20.
