Quick 02 Question

Hello all, I was just wondering if all 3 oxygen sensors are interchangeable. Unfortunatly the Autozone around me closed, and I am forced to use another local guy who is pretty much useless. He said rear o2 sensors need to be purchased at a dealership and that generally people just purchase universal sensors and fab theirown connections...

the third sensor you speak of must be the one on the cat conv; the front two are interchangable on the ypipe, but the one on fthe cat convertor is a different type of sensor. you can purchase the rear sensor at oxygensensors.com , you can get a universal and splice it, but its usually not worth your time to splice and rather buy one with a connector

If you want to get rid of the code, you either have to plug in an O2 sensor simulator and plug the hole, or you have to replace the sensor with a working O2 sensor. If you remove the O2 sensor leaving the harness unplugged, you'll have a CEL for that sensor.
