High pitched whistling noise from front passenger side
I don't know what it is but here are my symptoms. Weather does not matter. The whistling noise comes and goes so it's not consistently there. The speed of the car also does not seem to matter. RPMs do not make any difference either. But every once in a while I get like a high pitched whistling sound from my front right tire. I'm thinking it may be an unbalanced rim, but why would it whistle like that? Maybe it's losing air pressure?

No it's def. not the alternator. That would be constant too and more than likely fluctuate with RPMS. Wheel bearing would be constant too as well.
UPDATE:
Today when pulling in my driveway about 3-4 times I put the car in neutral and killed the switch. Since the noise is so intermittent I had to do it 3-4 times and when the car was rolling back, unstarted, and in neutral I heard the same noise sounded like the tire. Do unbalanced rims/tires make weird *** noises like this?

I had a wierd humming noise but from the rear passenger side wheel. It turned out to be a piece of crumbled up metal stuck between the disc rotor and dust cover.:hmm:
Jack the car up and spin the wheel by hand so you are closer to the noise, so u get a better idea of what it is.

here are two suggestions:
1. Check to make sure the noise maker for the brake pads aren't rubbing. It CAN happen even if you're not on the brakes.
2. Weird as this may be it happened to me. I had hit a pothole and then got a high pitched whistling noise like you. Found out that the cotter pin that sits RIGHT UNDER the CV joint had SHIFTED and the end was rubbing on the metal part of the CV joint. Moved it back. All ok.
Weird, I know, but worth checking, imo..
