There's about a million different ways to do it, he probably had HID's if not he had some lame euro lights or something.

it's simple, you take a can of rustoleum purple headlight tint and just do 2 light coats. The more coats, the purplier your headlights will be

at a junkyard, old broncos used to come with HID's.
You abviously have no idea what HID's are. Unless you plan to spend a few hundred bucks, just to make your lights look purple, why bother?

...purplier?

haha JK! kinda caught my attention. but it was probably just the bulbs. there are hundreds that are tinted like that. just head down to your local ricers-r-us and check it out.

HE wants purple lights so you tell him to get silverstars which are white? On top of that you say cool blues suck when silverstars short out after a few months?

Hey why isn't the silverstars worth the money? If they don't last very long maybe you need a new wiring harness?

silverstars like to break at or near 1 year. if you get them that far down the road.

You cant tint your headlights with a purple film. Not sure if you will get pulled over. But that would one of the more cheaper and easier ways to do it. Since you know nothing reguarding HID's

If you think your stock headlights suck now and put out no light, just wait till you either paint them purple or put purple bulbs in em.

silverstars are great lights when they work.. but they die in far less than a year, probably like 6 or 7 months. this coming from experience, don't buy them.. im gonna try PIAAs next

Piaa's will most likely do the same as silverstars for 4 times the $. If you can get silverstars for $20 or so you're in good shape. If you pay full price for them they aren't worth it. In the rain the SUCK!

lumicsbulbs.com sells purple bulbs and they're supposedly street legal. Don't expect to be able to see with them though, I don't think they're as bright as stock.

silverstars has short life expectancy, its something like 150 hours because they're pushing the filament to the limit. I have pair that will be replacing ricer bulbs when I go down south labor day weekend where they a steet light every 50 miles.

coolblues aren't even blue, they still look stock, I have them on right now. I had silverstars on before but I took them off because one of the lights went out after 2 years, so I thought I would try the coolblue, big mistake. Yes silverstars give the white type look, but it is the closet bulbs to HID's on the market. If you want purple lights, buy a purple bulb

Nokya sells Plasma Purple light bulbs if you want a purple effect. My friend has a pair and he tells me it's hard to see at night with them.

I had piaa Xtreme White plus bulbs (4,000k) worked great for 2 yrs. It was nice and bright and didn't look ricey. But from 98MikeXimaSE pics those silverstars look like hids!

I like those Luminics, how much are they? did you need a new wire harness?

I'll post pics of my piaa's if anyone is intrested.

i have silverstars and have had them for over a year.they're totally fine. they give off a kinda purplish hue to them but only from an angle...

if u want purple then go for the luminics or nokya which is what i had before...

also as a sidenote i got my silverstars for only 20 for the set...

sometimes u gotta love ebay.
