Damn that's expensive to add color... I paid $330 OTD for mine (regular CF) from the same place. For some reason, your hood pins look like they're way too far up the hood. Probably just an illusion or something....

As far as issues with finish. CF is very ceceptable to outside contaiminates. You really need to take good care of it. More so than your other paint. Keep it clean and a good coat of wax. This should help in keeping the original shine. I have not had any cracks on mine due to heat and believe me it gets hot.
Exactly, it also is going to depend on the vendor of the hood.
Some hoods made are very low quality and their clear is very thin. In time it basilcy just wears through.
Ive seen many Honda hoods like this, where they have lost all their shine completly.
