Max ECU Performance mod, super cheap?

Go to ebay.com and type maxima chip in the search function. You will see fifty or more similar items that promise to increase hp + tq by advancing the timing (more or less). Just curious as to if anyone has actually tried one of these and what the general consensus is. If the search function on this site was enabled, I wouldn't be asking this.

WTF are you talking about?

There're two companies that make worthwhile ECU upgrades for our cars: Technosquare and JWT. The other way you can advance it is by using a piggyback unit such as SMT or eManage Ultimate.

just out of curiosity, has anyone ever actually tried the resistor thing?? everyone is quik to jump and say it doesnt work, wen i bet noone has tried it, they're just going by wut everyone else says...i ontheotherhand have tried it........it doesnt work, lol. rather, the car doesnt work!! my friend actually bought the thing, put it on my car, the car wouldnt start.

yeh, they are correct, i was just wonderin who knew first hand, lol. i dont know y my friend bought the thing, its just a resistor, i bought a 5 pack at radioshack for .99 cents. he bought his on ebay for who knows how much...
