Maxima Problems

Okay the Maxima has been great until a couple of days ago. It has lost it's guts. I don't get that strong G-Force feeling when I floor it so I am assuming its the KS also the thing shifts like a moron. When I floor it it goes to like 5000 rpm and I really don't go anywhere and there is really no g-force feeling at all.It then automaticaly goes into the next gear and accelerates like a slug with the gas pedal to the floor still. When I gas it again nothing happens it still stays the same. The only place it feels kinda strong is when I am in 4th and it downshifts to 3rd. I am going to get it serviced soon but have you guys run into these kind of problems with your maxima's?

If You Are Automatic, It Could Also Be A Slipping Tranny.

Yeah I'm an automatic. How would I be able to tell if it's slipping? Do you feel or hear something? I hope its not the tranny I'll have to buy a new car if its that I don't want to spend 2000 dollars to fix something!!!!

when you step down on the gas and there is hardly a response plus strong buckings in between shifts means a dying tranny.

No buckings in between shifts its smooth it just downshifts to 5000 rpms then goes into the next gear and then doesn't go fast as if I'm just applying moderate pressure there is no hessitation or anything.

i am still leaning towards it bring a tranny problem because of the powerless shifts that you are describing. i now knock sensors create a noticeable powerloss, but not significant rpm drops.
