Testing a torque converter
I pulled my trans from my car just a few hours ago, after pulling it out and looking at the torque converter i was thinking maybe my converter went bad with my tranny. Is there a way to test it at home or somewhere very cheaply? I know if you try to spin it one way it will spin freelly by putting your finger inside the converter and spinning the inside of it, but the other way doesnt spin. I did that to THT converter that he let me buy if my converter is bad, and it did do the same thing, but this is not under the car's load so i don't know if there is any difference. I don't want to put the tranny in and everything else in and realizing that the converter is broken and needs to be replaced.

a. Insert check tool into the groove of bearing support built into
one-way clutch outer race.
b. When fixing bearing support with check tool, rotate one-way
clutch spline using screwdriver.
c. Check that inner race rotates clockwise only. If not, replace
torque converter assembly.
