Shaved doors

My bumper got mangled so I'm heading to the body shop, is there a better excuse to mod? I think not!

I plan on getting my doors shaved and install a poper/remote kit from autoloc. How do these systems perform? Do the solenoids burn out? Do the doors pop reliably, any accidental openings? How about locking the doors, do they unlock when they are poped or do I have to fumble with two FOBs? Could I program the door FOB to pop the trunk as well? How about winter, do the doors freeze shut? with no handle it might be hard to break the seal.

I may also shave the antenna and replace it with a BMW style shark fin on the roof. How would I rewire it to make it functional and what kind of reception could I expect from an aftermarket antenna with my bose system?

One last request, anyone with a photo of a shaved max please post it or post a link
Thanks

Shaved here, have autoloc, no problems just make sure you wire a switch incase your battery dies or you leave the keys in the car and shut the door.

i got mine shaved. i have no problems. same thing with what euromax said. but sometimes when im driving, for no reason at all, my driver side door trys to pop open, it happened like 3 times. it crazy cause i think what if this happens when its just sitting in a parking lot. other than that, im very happy with mine. do you plan on doing the moldings too? and the solenoids are very strong, so i dont think they would freeze. later

Well just in case, if you plan on taking your car to the track, some tracks or techs won't let you run if you have shaved door handles. Reason being, if you get into an accident at the track and the crew needs to get you out quickly they need to have something to open the door. And shaved door handles won't do justice if its a life threating situation. Just something to think about.

What's up with Rome06's trunk? What a freak. That is the coolest thing I've seen on a fourth gen in my short life span.

should put the switch in the trunk, then no one can get at it, just keep the key to the trunk on your keychain, all set.
