will a 96 ecm work in a 95 ?

i just got a ecm from a junked 96 a/t really cheap. there's a tsb about ecms in maxes built before jan 95 needing an upgraded/ revised ecm. my build date is 4/04. it still has the og unit. since i got this one cheap, i thought id try it, to see if it fixes the problems im having, but i dont want to fry anything !!!!

midway lists a 95 ecm and a 96-97, so obviosly there is a diff. but if it's just a matter of accessories or slight changes, i'd try it to rule out the ecm being bad.

anybody know what differences there might be?....thanx

I had a 97 and still have the 95 and from all the work I did on them, there weren't any differences that I noticed and I did a lot of mods to both. I have the FSM's for both if you want them so you can compare all the sensors. PM me.

Is that conclusive no, but its the best I can tell you.

All model year 1995 Maxima's are OBDII. The scan connector is located in the passenger side foot well.

1996 ECU's should work fine in 1995.
