H-tech on stock struts

H-tech on stock struts
These springs are really just a mild drop and the roads around here are pretty damn good, potholes are not excistant in the area where i drive, and i can drive like a normal person too if needed. Will i still have problems with blowing out? I know these are good springs and all, but everybody says bad things about stock struts and lowering springs, but these are such a mild drop. I really am not going to have any money for shocks within the next year also. Installation is going to be either cheap or free(DIY). My parents won't know about this.

don't take only my word for it (i'm not dropped yet). But from my research (what i've heard, read and seen) stock struts were not made for aftermarket springs.
There have been several people that drove around with stock struts and aftermarket springs and from what i've seen all say "it's a matter of time" before they blow.
if you're going to replace the springs i reccomend replacing the struts as well... as they say "if you do something, do it right the first time." it'll save you money in the end.

AxisKill is right. . . but if you insist in going the cheaper route, then the Htechs (or the H&R's) would be the springs to pair with stock struts. I am running Htechs on my IS300, and was on stock struts for about a month before I decided that they did not do enough dampening and my handling was not even improved over stock - so I switched to Koni Yellows; best thing I ever did for the car. Even KYB GR2's would be better matched to Htechs than the stockers, I would also suggest you stay away from the Tokico Blues; I had them paired with Eibachs on my Maxima and I was not satisfied at all. Good luck.

This is an awesome coincidence. I am looking to buy h-tech springs as well. My struts hit their life a little while back and have new struts on now. Will the h-tech sping be a big deal with less that 1 month old struts? Please PM me with a response.

See the problem is that I won't have the money for new struts for like a year, and i dont want to wait that long to lower my car. Im saving up for a 5spd vq35 swap so i dont really want to dump over $600 into a suspension. Maybe later after the swap i'll have enough money and i'll put some illuminas in, but for now, its springs only. Thanks for the replies.

i was in the exact same boat. ive had my progress springs on stock sruts for 4 months and no problems, my friend has had CUT sprints on stock struts for about a year and a half now no problems. we are both planning on getting coilovers soon tho. i wouldnt leave them like that forever but you shouldnt have any problem doing it for several months - especially w/ H-techs
