Swapped Auto trans now Ingnition Fuse blew

Just got done swapping out auto trannies, my was slipping horribly. But anyways, my problem is when i finally got everything back together, and started the car, the instant i turned the key car almost started but then the fuse blew. I was trying to figure out what might of caused it. I checked all the connections they looked right, checked the starter that looked ok, but one little thing that might of caused the fuse to blow, i don't remember but is there suppose to be three wires, one from the battery to the starter, another from the solinoid to the starter motor itself, and now this is where i get confused, a wire from the body of the car to a small tab. Could this one wire caused the fuse to blow? Is there something that I might of over looked that caused it to blow. Can i use a multimeter to check how much amps is actually going thru the fuse when i start the car. I really don't want to go thru fuses like water. Can the ignition switch is going bad? And lastly my last question, exactly how much atf i need to pour in after swapping out the tranny. I was talking to Dave Sz he told me about 9qts. But i did not drop the tranny pan out.

Sorry to ask so many questions, its better than me whoring up the board.

Sounds like you have a short somewhere. I can't help you with those starter wires, but that's a good place to start (and most likely where the problem is). Check the grounds.
