rebuilding maxima

i had a 98 max about 7 months ago that was tottaled and i'm now looking at another maxima but i wana a 4th gen but all of those seem to have high miles on them would it be worth my time to buy one with higher miles on it and either rebuild the engine or put a new(er) engine in it i dont' not know tipically how much getting a new engine put in costs just wondering what your ideas are

no look - www.autotrader.com
And you can't buy a literally NEW engine. You can find used ones with under 50k miles for less than $400. www.car-part.com

Yes a 3.5 will fit if you spend about $2000

High miles on maximas isn't a big deal on the engine.. maybe on the chassis with suspension, engine mounts, engine components (alt, starter, waterpump), coil packs starting to wear with high mileage

Sooo just buying a high mile maxima and swapping in a low mileage engine is only half of it

First off, define "high milage." To some, that is 50,000. To others, it is +250,000.

Secondly, why worry about replacing the engine in a car that you haven't found yet? A high milage car that's been well maintained probably has a perfectly good high milage engine in it. Find a high milage car in good shape and go with it, no rebuilding/replacing necessary.

you CAN buy a new engine, literally, but its gonna cost you more than 3 used maximas probally.

What is that front end setup on your maxima? Yours is the white one right? I just bought a really nice looking white maxima but it has a off-white bumper(no accident on carfax, only 1 owner so I am assuming he hit something at low speed and replaced the bumper with a ****ty one), so I am looking to replace mine and I really like the way yours looks.
