I've been chewing up axles for the last year or so since I did my suspension. I really like the look and the handling of sprints but I'm convinced it's too low in the front.
whenever I get around to it, I'll probably be swapping out for eibachs and replacing at least one of my axles. I just snapped one 10,000 miles ago and another is already worn.
http://www.raxles.com <- I'll be going there for new axles. no more refurbs for me.

but even w/ springs. after its age and settling in, doesn't it drop a tad more than its LISTED drop??
yes if ur cars's suspension is tinkered, as in dropped and stuff (more so), ur PRONE to havinge ur axles eaten. and what exactly do u mean by EATEN? boot rips? clicking? what? snapping??

Your using sprints right ?? thats a comman problem with lowering your car and not BEEFING up with a better axle...
I remember a while ago when IANSW was on sprints and he was going through axles every few months putting down over 350hp with a blower...he changed them out to B&G's and never had the problem again.
Ive had sprints and Eibach and never had an axle problem, so who knows

Your car domain says your on Tein basics. I would say driving with coilovers on a low setting would eat axles up quicker. Some people I know with coilovers only drop em real low for shows for the tires and axles sake. Even with a camber kit it will still eat your axles, the camber kit only gives a little mercy to the tires

All I can suggest is Raxles.. thats what I put in on mine.. I'm lowered w/ no problems, and yes, I drive like im trying to take the "lines" on each corner ... Anyways Raxles come with a lifetime warranty and have a hookup for Maxima.org members.. check them out

Switched to less aggressive springs and haven't had a problem since.

Wow - and no one seemed to believe me when my axles were being eaten because of too low springs....now it seems I'm getting some back up here.
Raxles cost quite a bit. BUT - Marty at Raxles may be the BEST customer experience I've EVER had. AND his axles are very high quality.
Example: My Driver's side axle went. I ordered an axle from Marty and I got it very quickly and he was very cool to talk to on the phone and you could tell he really had a lot of confidence in his product.
a month later my passenger side went. Marty thought it very odd that I had 2 axles on different sides go so quickly. He had me send him my non-Raxles outer axle after he 2-DAY AIRED FOR FREE me a new passenger side Axle (since he was so curious about my problem he wanted to see it ASAP). He also included a 2-day packing slip and a return box.
So he got my passenger side axle and I told him he could keep it to rebuild or do whatever he wanted with. A week later I got not just an E-Mail but a Powerpoint Presentation with slides showing exacly where on the joint my failure was and he went into detail about how that exact kind of damage is caused by a car with springs that are too low.
Switched to B&G then later H&R Springs and have never had another axle issue.
No - my boots never tore.
