Leaking oil.. but where?

I'm a pretty good mechanic but i'm baffled. How much oil does your car use?

I changed my oil pressure switch like 2 weeks ago. I had to add a quart a week before i changed it- because I was lazy.

My car is still using/leaking oil. Only now its much more. I went to check it today and there are drops.

no leaks evident outside. No oil burning smell/color in exhaust. No knocks, no pings, nothing. car runs perfect. I was guessing its the rear valve cover gasket but that's dry.

Has anyone tried one of those stop leak products? which one worked for you.

I am baffled........

You mean that there are no leaks and no oil stains on the ground right?

If its not leaking, its gotta be burning it, there is no where else for it to go.

It could be seeping by the valve guides... how much oil are you losing?

Pull the coil packs and see if there is any oil in the spark plug chambers. Those seals are prone to leak (valve cover seals).

I know everyone claims that their VQs don't consume oil, but I know mine does. I use about 1/2 quart every 3k. I'm always midway beteen full and low on the dipstick at the 3k mark.

I thought about putting a blower in my I30 until i looked inside and remembered it was an automatic. One day i'll be rich and have another car to drive while i do a manual swap.

Still dont know where the oil went but my new oil pressure switch is leaking again. Might be the source. But there's no puddle...
