I am planning to replace my tranny fluid w/ Redline MT-90. Can I just get this stuff at a local Pep Boys? How much is it? Also, how much will I need? How long after I replace the fluid will I notice a change in shifter feel? Thanks.

You will need to find a Redline distributor, they don;t just sell it at NAPA. It costs between $7-$9/quart and you will need 5 quarts (takes about 4.75 quarts). Shifter feel should be smoother almost immediately but even more so after 50-100 miles (at least it was for me). Now I get get it into first at a roll whereas before I had to stop and sometimes double clutch. Good luck.

Stillen sells it, or www.lightningmotorsports.com

Its about $8/bottle.

Its definitely worth it. It makes shifting so much smoother.

i got mine at courtesy nissan (i live/work in dallas/fort worth). i noticed a little more improvment in shifting too, especially when the weather is cold.

i still have some problems with put the car back into 1st, when the car is still rolling, but going into second is easier now (after slowing for a turn).

how often do you guys plan on switching out the manual trans fluid? ive got a friend that does his every 30k miles, but he has a auto. my understanding is that the manual trans fluid doesnt have to be changed as often.

MAnual tranny allegedly lasts the life of the car. Especially if you have Redline synthetic fluid (I'm talking about manuals only). I'd say change it every 100K or so...

Definately worth it for 5-spds. Most fun is downshifting and not having the car lurch forward - even 2nd to 1st! You'll notice it right away.
