trunk mechanism won't latch

trunk mechanism won't latch
So I didn't secure a keg very well during transportation and the jolts sustained by the back of the trunk messed up the latch.
This has happened before, and a simple readjustment of the two bolts holding the bottom part of the latch fixed the problem.
I alread spent a good 2 hours trying to fix this problem and have come to the conclusion that the latching mechanism just won't hold the trunk close.
I simulated the latching action with a small screw driver and found that the latch would close, but then would reopen with out much force.
I'm pretty sure everything is aligned correctly and the that the latch just reopens everytime I try to close the trunk.
So, Has anyone else experienced this, and what did you do to fix it. Where would be the best place to look for a replace latch.
I've had a hard time finding junked maximas around my town, so if anyone knows anyone I'd great appreicate them contacting me.
Thanks for your help guys

Most likely the keg rolled into the rear body pannel and pushed it out slightly. Thats the most common "keg in the trunk" issue we see happen at the body shop. Adjusting the height with the bolts isn't going to make it latch again. Take off the trunk inner trim lining and look closely at the alignment of the trunk lid and the latch mechanism. Have a friend help you by getting into the trunk to see whats going on. A few tugs with a slide hammer should bring the rear body pannel back into position again, or a visit to your local body shop should get her fixed up quickly.

Um if you can not unlatch from the lever in the car first check the security trunk release disable on the lower trunk latch... It is a small metal switch that moves up and down to enable and disable the interior release...
