here's a little tip my friends who tint windows have told me. make the rear window dark, like 10-15% and do the strip on your front windshield the same, then do the rear passenger windows 20% and the drivers and passenger 35%. with the back window and front windshield that dark it will make the illusion that your side windows are darker
i did the same thing but did 15% back and front, then 20% on my side windows

Or you could do 5% all around and make the appearance of your windows being dark?????

For a clean consistent overall appearance id recomend 20% / 20%
If you dont care about backing up at night, like you live in the city etc.. then go with 5% / 20% for a bleneded but clean look. I rode around with 5/20 for 3 years with no issues, but i did just get a fix it for my front tints. 35% up front is safer.

Well be happy your state allows you to have front window tints. Here in IL we can have any % in the rears and rear sides but NONE in the front.

But there are so many people with them. I'm debating on getting 20% in the rear sides, 15% in the rear and maybe 35% or 20% in the fronts. The more i think the more i change my mind. since i'm blk on blk.

If you're going to get 2.5% tint, why not just take your windows out and spray paint them black. Personally, I'd go with 20%. I have 35% right now and I regret not getting 20%. I've never had my ***** busted, neither has my friend, who has 20. Then again, CT cops are different than RI cops.

anyone have a white 4th gen with 35% all the way around ? i have always had 5% on my rides, getting the chariot done tommorrow, but its very strict here in NZ. I want 20% but might have to settle for 20% rear and 35% sides. so i thought maybe someone could post up a 35% tint job on a white 4th gen, would also like to look at 20% all the way around on a white 4th gen

thanks

is there some kinda gadget that finds out that 70% of sunlight is shining through ur windows? I say get some black construction paper and glue that sh*t to every window. and limo ur front windshield too.

i halfway understand the reason y tints can be illegal for the cops' safety or wutnot, but i think if a cop messes wit u for something like tints, they're being a$$es. go fight real crime. 35% tint will kill u in down here in florida or any sunny weather for that matter. u mite as well not have any tint period if the tint is that light.

I have 20 all around and I love it. My car is registered in LA but I go to school in MS and work in AL. Pretty sure cops can't enforce local laws on me. I haven't been pulled over yet in any of the states I live in.

i would get limo in the back and like 35 for the fronts, or you could obey your local laws.

I say go with what looks good to you. I have 35% all around and I wish I went with something darker. Also I'll be getting 5% on my sunroof soon.

it all depends on your laws, since you cant get ANY % in IL in the front windows i went with 15% in the backs and 35% in the fronts so it looks considerably lighter. havent got hasseled at all, looks great

before: naked

after: Perfect

that would be sweet. maybe one day cars will come with something of that nature. I would get it. I cant wait until they make windows that never get foggy those are coming in a few years also. Instead of trying to repel water they do the opposite and form the water in a way that makes it perfectly flat causing no viewing distortion by not allowing it to build up and get fractured. cool stuff soon enough

How much would it cost to re-tint your windows? I did mine at 35% and they are way to light, I would prefer 15% now. Does anyone know how much it would cost? Also, my back driver window is broken (I cant roll it down) can they still do the tint or do they have to roll the windows up and down to get the tint on?

i honestly think having two different kinds of tint on the windows makes it look less smooth.

black, on black on black.

1995 black maxima GLE, 5% Charcoal Tint, Black leather. 5% is the way to go with $200 a tint. Anything else is just like Everything else.

There is no such thing as dark legal tint. 35% is legal here, and that isn't even worth the money. My car is as close to black as you can get, and I have 10, it looks good, real dark, and you can still see good at night. I know someone at the inspection place, so I'm straight, but you should take all into concideration.

15% all around. But I love the new quatum tint by llumar. It really adds a nice shimmer effect to the tint. My friend has it on his white acura and it looks awesome. I would love to have it but I am not risking pulling my defroster lines off to change my tint.

Whatever you choose, don't get a mixed tint, get the same all around. My Maxima has 13% and our Altima has 35%, 35% is probably the lightest i'd ever go with tinting, anything less seems to be a waste of time.
