Clicking noise on drivers side when turning, NOT cv joint
A couple of weeks ago I adjusted my D2 coilovers and lowered the car about another inch, but I did it wrong, instead of using the tools that come with the coils and turning the collars, I unbolted the bottom and turned that instead, because I did it this way, my alignment is off and the normal D2 clicking is back, but a few days later I started hearing a new noise.
Whenever I am turning left I hear a clicking noise fomr the drivers side, BUT, I only hear it when I accelerate, if I am coasting through a turn there is no clicking, but the second I touch the gas the clicking starts, and I can make it stop by just taking my foot of the gas. I knew form the start this wasnt the cv joint because I have had a bad axle before and this clicking is not the same, its faster and slightly more high pitched.
Anyone have any idea what this could be? CV joint is fine. lugs are all tightened to 85 ft/lbs. Nothing is lose down there. This all started when I lowered my car and at first I was thinking it was the coilovers, but its only making the noise on one side and only when I turn left. When I was down there, the only problem I could see was that the boot on the control arm (I think thats what its called, its the rod that attaches behind the rotor and turns the wheel) is ripped, but I seem to remember that being ripped for a while now.

Really? So the joint can just eventually go bad even without a ripped boot? I didnt know that. The clicking came out of no where and it just made me think it had to do with the coilovers, especially since they make so much noise already. I also didnt think it could be the joint since this clicking sounds different than the last time I had a joint go bad. Oh well, guess Ill have ot replace that this week, thanks guys.
