wheel stud and lug nut problems
it seems everytime i take my wheels off, wheel studs get cross-threaded and sometimes the ends of the wheel studs break off inside the lugs when im taking them off...so now i am missing/have cross-theaded at least 1 wheel stub on each corner of my car...(its angering me b/c ive arleady replaced about 7)...
what i want to do now is to switch all my wheel studs out to ones that do not have as fine thread patterns, longer(extrud more from hub) and stronger ones
then hopefully they will not break off or get crossthreaded anymore
MY QUESTIONS ARE:
1. has anyone had bad luck with studs/lugs like me?
2. has anyone ever switched out to not as fine/longer/stronger studs?
3. if so, what brand and where did u buy them??

You must be overtightening the wheels... the lug nuts are supposed to be torqued to 70-80 ft-lbs (or around that range)... I would definitely be wary of using anti-seize on the lug nuts... you don't want those coming undone while driving...

Use Anti-Seize - The **** works!
And be a bit more carefull when you thread your lug nuts on.
Use a torque wrench, only 80 ft/lbs are required to secure your lug nuts.

yea i had to change all the studs and nuts
had a sh!tty day .. he gave me from infinity studs, they smaller
so i had to change..
but u take off brake cliper and rotor, with a hammer smash bolts u dont need, and just buy them in autozone like 2$ each

Actually I find the OEM lugstuds on my '97 are excellent compared with many other mfg (Honda) out there which break frequently. I've torqued my rears maybe 140+ times over 7 years and not one has broke yet. For anybody it helps...
1) I break em loose with an old beam torque bar
2) Spin em off with a drill or impact
3) Check there's a hubcentric ring present
4) Hand thread em to start em back on (never used anti-seize)
5) Spin em back on using a red torque-stick
6) Final tighten with a decent torque wrench
My H&R studs are just as strong and I'm sure Nismo and ARP are similar. Maybe the key is getting them started correctly and not using an airgun from the start? Or the frequent removal/install keeps em happy?
