Hood lifter holder supporter thingie... CF hood owners plz help

I installed my carbon fiber hood and took the struts that hold the hood open off. I want to get those lifting stick thing that I can use to hold the hood open when I need to. Anyone have idea on what I can use? And no, I will not use 2x4s.

Get some worn out hood-lifts - they'll work great on the CF hood - and won't be too strong. I'm sure there are people out there who have some worn ones laying around.

O/wise go to a boneyard and pick up one of the hose hood-holder metal rods off any car basically and find a way to mount it onto the max.

I am using worn out hood struts. They will need to hold an OEM Hood up for a few minutes and then give to work fine with the CF Hood. I bought them off an .org member. Just post up in the f/s section. I tried using a stick from a different car, but was unsatisfied with the results.

Go to a junk yard and find a metal rod off of the models that do not use the strut shocks. See how it mounts, most of the time the entire assembly bolts on. You can cut and bend it to fit yours. Don't forget to take the rubber part that the rod snaps in when the hood is closed, so it won't rattle around.

Hood struts is the way to go.
I tried using just a thin rod which wasnt good with wind.
Im now using an old hood support rod from another car I picked up during a yard run that has a hook on the end. I have it to where it hooks on the upper hood latch.
That way it supports the hood plus holds onto it.
The hood strut is the cleanest look though.
