What Kind Of Brakes

i just got illumina shock/eibach spring combo and it's great. i want to get nice performance brakes now. i heard the important things for that are the brake pads, the rotors, and the brake lines. please tell me a good brand name or a good combo to get. thank you!

Are you keeping the stock rotor and calipers? Or are you wanting a whole new brake system?

u will never go wrong with BBK...

...but personally i have brembo x-drilled rotors + hawk HP pads all around. i don't drive my car hard, and it's pretty good for street application.

Just throw in a set of Wagner Thermo Quiet Ceramic pads and enjoy better, quieter, cleaner braking.

you might want to research synthetic brake fluids before you just go and dump some in.

if you can afford a BBK then go for it

well if you don't have ABS i would be scared to get a BBK. Since I don't I'm aiming for the stillen brake kit.

I have stillen slotted rotors and pads, been using them for the past 3 years and I like it. Its a bit louder than stock on braking, but its better stopping IMO.

I had a nice convo with Steve at SCO not too long ago on brakes and we both came to the conclusion that a BBK is overkill for street applications. If you do auto-x, etc... then maybe, but otherwise there are better (and cheaper) options out there for your needs. I say for fronts go for a set of cross-drilled or slotted rotors of your choice paired with Axxis Ultimates Ceramic Pads, and for the rears do the same except with some Brembo blanks. Just my 2 cents

i don't see any connection here anyway, even all-stock no-abs brakes EASY overpower tires

I guess most people panic and stand on the brake pedal rather than regulating the braking effort.

Overkill? Hardly. Clearly stated by someone that hasn't driven a bbk car. I LOVE my Cobra 13" rotor/300z caliper bbk and rear bbk. This makes braking such a breeze it's funny. Other cars just seem like mushy/heavy boats compared to my car.

Even for everyday use, anything but emergency braking just requires a lazy tap on the pedal. To do the same in the stock maxima, I'd would be almost standing on the brakes, hoping I don't lock the damn things. Then I'd be PRAYING I don't have to repeat this manauver in the next minute or so because the brakes are mush for that amount of time.

BBK not only improve the braking preformance but modulating is 10x easier. It's WAY easier to modulate an lighter pedal push than trying to modulate standing on the pedal trying to slow the car down.
