Hit by deer

The other night I got hit by a dear, and when I say got hit, I mean the dear ran into the side of my car, I did not run into it. But anyways, it wrecked my front bumper cover on the side, my fender, and my passenger door which will now not open. But I got my check from insurance for 1700, i have bought all the replacement parts including a fender, trenz grill, clear corners, 97 front end with stillen lip. I have only spent about 450 of my 1700. I still need to buy a door. Does anyone know of any online dealers that have them for good prices, or any good junkyards to check out in the Balt- Wash Maryland area? I have seen them for about 500 but i was trying to get it cheaper than that. That would still leave me with 800 dollars to spend. I am thinking about upgrading suspension. I want something that handles very well but is not so stiff the interior pieces creak, but handling is more important to me than comfort. What setup should I get, and where from?

Sorry to hear about your accident. I had a deer incident but had to do repairs out of pocket. Lucky you should have some change left over.

www.car-part.com should help you find a door in your area. I would try to buy locally, as shipping for a door would be very expensive. Check your yellow pages under automotive for junkyards.

If anything check the for sale forums, and get a price from someone on a door shipped, might be a good deal.

I received a check for 1550, because i have a 150 deductible so that is why I have 800-900 left. And for paint a good friend of mine is painting it for me he works for a shop but is going to do the work for basically cost including paint and body work, such as random dings I have already. Sorry I don't have a digital camera, but I will definitely get some pictures up when it is all fixed with the new paint job and body kit. I am going to be lowering it as well. So I am planning on spending about 1000 of my own money to finsih the exterior and then its back to performance.

I find it so hard to belive that a deer ran into your car hard enough to screw that much up
lol
sure it didn't run into the corner of your car and then let the car do the rest of the work.

PS did you get the deer's insurance information?

The same thing happened to my father in his truck. He hit one from the front and another hit him on the side. Talk about bad luck. Good luck w/ repairs.

Man...deer are not very smart animals...I hit one about four years ago. When it saw my headlights..it ran right in front of my car...I was able to move out of the way..but not enough...it broke my mirror and scratched my drivers side fender. Now I'm so paranoid when I drive on the highway..it stinks.

Just got the 99 I 30 back from the shop Friday from a deer hit. Front pasanger fender, door, hood. Cost $3200. Boy, does the car look nice now! Famous last words from the wife, as the first deer went across the road in from of me, "watch out, they usually come in..THUD.. pairs".

What happened was that the deer smashed his head on the passenger fender and then his body kicked around from the impact and the body smashed into the door. It really isn't a whole lot of damage, not for the full amount if I let my friend do the work. The most expensive part was the door, I need a complete replacement, not just the panel. Sucks. If anyone has one for sale let me know or if you know of any cheap places in MD
