anyone done the angel eyes or attempted to..

http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm

I'm about to attempt to do this, doesn't look hard at all. But seeing as how most cars with angel eyes have projectors on them, i think having a standard maxima headlight might look odd. Plus i really have no idea what size to make the circle. I've looked around and haven't seen any maxima's with them on the org or cardomain. The link was posted in the stickies so i would assume there are some people who have tried. I'm just trying to gather some input before i attempt ti dremel a hole in the headlight to mount the angel eyes. Thanks guys

i think that if you do it the chap way, it will look cheap. i have been tempted also, but like you said, may look a bit off without projectors, or CCFL

I built some custom ones with cold cathodes for our 98 Durango's foglights about 4 years ago. I think anything other then round doesn't look right

yea i agree anything other then a circle doesn't look right. but without me having projectors. i cant really imagine putting them in stock headlights. i've tryed to put like a circle of tape around just to try to get an idea but it just looks weird. I'm mainly tempted right now because i have my headlights apart since i just did the AE mod and i dont wanna put them together and reopen it if i was going to do the angel eyes. someone find me a quick pic.

Best thing to do is get a pic of a max head on save it and use "Paint" to edit it, then draw some angel eyes on there to see how it would look, that's what I did before I did the dual retrofit, I checked how it looked first. You can use a soda can as a template to get the diameter for the angel eyes. They don't really take that long to make, I would make a set and test fit it on there while you have the light apart. It may change the beam pattern and output of your lights though since they are in the way. On projectors they really aren't. If you click on the retrofit services link in my thread you can get an idea of what they look like with the headlight off.

I personally think that the BMW angel eyes only belong on BMW's. My BMW driving friends would probably laugh at me if I got that done. But hey, to each their own.

i think they can work on other cars, but this link/how to with the plastic rod and led mod seems too good to be true. it is cheap, which is nice but does it look decent? what are other alternatives to doing angel eyes?

well another alternative that i found was to buy the actually sets made for BMW's at like 80$ on ebay. But they are normally 4 inchs in diameter. which seems to be way to big to fit in a 4th gen. I've also found some for VW's. But i would assume those are just about the same as doing it yourself. I'll take a shot at it with the rod and see how that works. Will post pictures up next week when i have time to go to the store
