Maxima overhaul

Well i need a new motor so should i pick up that 3.5 for $1800 or go with a DEK for like $600-700? If i just get the DEK ill have pently of senors from my old DE, but i could also sell them and use the cash towards the 3.5. I really want the 3.5 i think its a good choice and i know id love it to death. I know that the 3.5 i can tune alot if i really want to get great gains. I'm also looking for a 5 speed converion kit, if i can get that 3.5 i guess i could ask tilley to help me out! send me a pm if you have hook ups on the coversion kit.

How many miles are on your vehicle and what kind of condition is it in: drivetrain, exhaust, body, suspension etc? Depending on the condition of the vehicle perhaps a 3.5 litre engine and 5-speed swap would be a waste of money.

Perhaps buying a 6-speed 2002 or 2003 Maxima and selling your car privately would be a better alternative, if you can afford it.

If you are swapping out the engine and the transmission, it would probably make more sense to buy a new 2000-2003 MT.

I say go for the gold and go with the 3.5! You will be faster and perhaps even get better gas mileage since 4th gens are much lighter of cars....the only draw back would be the guess and checks you'd have to do in order to fine tune the 3.5 to the 4th gen....I want to do the same with a new 6spd tranny but i don't have a lot of knowledge or help in the the area i live....keep researching the 3.5 and try that out....

doesn't tilley do a complete 3.5 swap for you for like $3000. I dont know if he does include the tranny in there as well. give him a PM before you do anything.
