EGR Question

I installed a Y-pipe almost 10 months ago. I already installed a 02 simulator to get rid of one code. Every know and then I get a insufficiant/excessive flow code for EGR. Just recently this code had come again and the next day I had cylinder number 5 missfire. The problem is that it is intermitting. It is not all the time and this is the first time a cylinder missfire happened. I just need to know if the missfire is EGR coused or if anyone else had this sinario happen before a poor man spends his bills money on parts. Thanks for those who can help. I will be going into to work right know until 2 am, So I will not be able to answer any questions until tommorrow.

Not likely that the EGR caused the misfier.

The EGR problem is most likely just a clogged EGR port on the plenum and a clogged EGR guide tube - that runs from the valve to the plenum port. Pull the plenum off the car and clean out both the tube and the plenum port and that will most likely take care of the EGR code.

The misfire could be a bad plug, injector or coil.
