Headlight question, Would 97-99 Lenses fit on 95-96 housing?

The reason im asking is because my 99se housings are cracked but the lenses are fine. So im buying 96 glass headlights (cheaper), taking off the lenses and replacing it with my 99 ones. Will this work?

Hope you didn't buy those yet because they don't fit. I verified it today because I was trying to start a retrofit with 95-96 style lights and test fitted a 97 lens on it, there is a big gap in the middle because the 97-99 has more of a curve in the headlight. There will be gaps all around the light because the lens is more curvy.
