I was crousing down on the Blvd. then this 2000 max pulled up to me so we both gave each other that look. as soon as the light hits green we went at it. he took off about a car length before me but I wounded up passing him. Bare in mind that my engine is stock. About a week later I took my car to the dealer to be serviced and one of the guys who works there told me that even though both cars are 3.0 the 4th Gen. has a little more torque than the 5th Gen,but he said if its on a long run the 5th Gen. would buss my a$$. He also told me that there coming out with a optional 3.5 engine for the 5th Gen around next year.

2000+ Maxima's have 217 Lb's of TQ
95-99 Maxima's have 205Lb's of TQ

The reason a 4th gen seems to be a little faster off the line is becuase of the smaller lighter 15" wheels. Also the extra 200 Lb's of weight in the 2K+ Maximas slowes them down a little. I bet if MT tested a 5spd GXE 0-60 the time would be @ 6.5, ratehr then 6.7 with the loaded down SE.
