raxles.com seems to be well known around here, and recommended.

Currently I'm looking around, trying to source some 5MT axles to do a 5 speed swap, best places I've found are like Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, and raxles.

buy a rebuild, around here they go for about 70 bucks. Be careful puttin it in, dont hit it too hard. It should click right in.

You may have to fool with the retaining ring a little bit they don't always click right in (though they do once you get the retaining ring in the right position, haha). A trick is to use a long flathead screwdriver to try to push the retaining ring into the axle so it is sort of "seated" inside, then tap the axle on the rest of the way with a rubber mallet.

What do you mean that you can't find an axle on ebay?

I just got mine for $65 shipped, search for maxima "cv axle" and you'll see which one I got mine from. Nothing but good comments in his feedback for at least 10 pages.

And before anyone asks: I didn't want a raxles axle (I don't launch hard almost ever, so I couldn't justify the cost), and I don't have the time to go around to a local store to find an axle (I'm about 5 hours away from "local" so that makes it hard too), especially in a weekend where they might have to order it. I'm coming home late Thursday, car is in the shop Friday, Saturday is Paint prep, and Sunday I'm driving back to college. I can't wait...

edit again: Link to ebay results, searched "maxima cv axle"-- http://motors.search.ebay.com/maxima...W0QQsacatZ6028

I was looking at those auctions on eBay, here's something interesting:

That doesn't make sense, I thought the AT and MT axles were different, and what does it mean with or without ABS? Does that mean it has an ABS ring installed (cars without ABS can still use it)?

But mainly, the different tranny's require different axles, right?

AT and MT are different axles. Yes

there is a ring on the end of the axle used for ABS, I think some have installed the abs axles in a non abs car.

Looks like I gotta email the seller...thanks for the reminder (things always seem to get buried when I'm at school)

Bump - just got an email from the seller assuring me that I'll get the correct axle. I'm very impressed so far with this seller, and if their customer service says anything about the product, I'm sure it will do fine.
