Why is my clutch so stiff?

My clutch has been stiff since I had purchased my car. I was just wondering what can I do to soften this clutch up? The clutch I have is an Exedy Stage 1 What can I do to lighten the clutch?

Thanks.

Your clutch is worn out...take that in to get replaced. If you don't it will start slipping and will progressively get worse til it goes out on you. Start saving some cash.

I thought I told you during the meet.... My clutch is already slipping. This is my 2nd clutch since I have had ownership of this car. The stock one went out than I replaced to Exedy Stage 1 and now that is going out. Since I have had ownership of my 4th gen the clutch had always felt like that which I am sure it's not suppossed to. I went to the dealership today and they told me either I might have an air gap or either my mast clutch cylinder is out or the slave or somthing like that which I didn't really understand.

You should have gone with the 5th gen clutch. Well too late for that. If it is the clutch master cylinder, then you'd have problems shifting into gears. I'm not a tranny specialist so I really can't tell you all the symptoms related to this. I also don't know your driving habits so take that into consideration in how your clutch lasts. If you do end up needing a reliable and trustworthy tranny guy let me know.

I haven't ordered a new clutch yet I am planning on purchasing the 5th gen clutch. I do need a trusty tranny guy. How much does he charge for labor?

My buddy owns a transmission shop in La Puente called Transmission Center. His number is 626-330-1177, ask for Angel Flores. He and his dad own and run their own transmission shop. And he is very well versed with Nissan transmissions. I don't know how much he charges per hour but you can call him. All I know is that his work is top notch and they will not shaft you and play games with you after they've taken your money.
