Help! Major electrical system failure.

I just installed the '00VI. I took the battery out and put it back in the wrong way, as the terminals were backwards. I did not try to crank it like this but when I was connecting to the terminals the negative cable sparked twice. Then I figured out it was backwards. I put it back right and went to start it. It cranks but it does not even idle, just dies but I can keep it running it I rev it. My dad says if feels like a cylinder is misfiring I felt the same.I checked and rechecked for vacuum leaks and make sure all connections were correct, I found nothing out of the ordinary. I also hear a weezing coming from the engine bay, I couldn't pinpoint it out. My dad and I figured it's an electrical issue. My stereo, wipers, alarm, keyless entry, lights on the doos, and air condition/fan do not work. I checked the fuses of the things that did not work and they were fine. My dad says there should something like a central fuse connecting to everything that would have blown. I hardly know anything about the maxima's electrical system. I need help. Please.

Thanks,
Mooney

Edit: I have not checked for codes yet.

Checked fuses and replaced the main battery fuse. Ran car again, same problem. The stereo and keyless entry does not work. I checked all the fuses and used a tester to make sure the fuses were getting power, they were. Can relays go bad? I don't know what to do.

Does the 4th Gen Maxima have any fusible links?

Yes. I changed the main battery one, and that fixed most of everything. All that doesn't work now is the Keyless entry and anti theft system.

I replaced the security light fuse. That worked.
