newb question about ECU

How do reset the ECU on a 95 maxima?
I have only had the car for a month and I have heard that the ECU addapts to the driving style of the owner (highway, stop and go, always at WOT, etc.) so I really want to reset the ECU to get rid of some small stuff that is bothering me ( the car not acting the way I think it should)
I tried the "how to" but the link didnt work for me

edit: btw, I know that if I leave the battery disconected for some 9-11 days or so, it resets automatically but Im not interested in that

I thik this is for resetting the lights and finding trouble codes but not reseting the ECU itself. corect me if I am wrong.
there was another link specificly for the ECU that did not work for me.

well then do it the old way. it works for me.

remove the positive and negative side of the batery and touch them together and hold them for about 10-15 secs.

And once u do that put them back on. U will see the rpm will start high and then it will adjust to the conditions after you drive it for about 200-400 miles.

Whoa, I just thought if you take the ground off for like 10 mins it resets it....I am not too sure if its a good idea to touch the 2 cables...
