Woohoo...Stillen Intake has been installed!
Finally arrived today and immediately had it installed. Took about 30 minutes to get the job done.
I didn't feel any loss of low end torque. I love it when I hear the engine suck some air at 2 rpm and up. I didn't push the car hard because my dad was in the car and he wouldn't be happy if I beat the crap out of the engine.
One question though. There was a 3/4 inch hole on top of the intake. In the instructions it said that that's where the ambient temp. sensor goes but I didn't see any ambient temp. sensor. I check the instructions to see what year the intake was for and it said 97-99. It said to use something called the grommett that could be found in the engine bay or stock air box?? Instead I took a large screw to cover the hole on top of the intake. Is there any sensor that should go in the hole for a 97-99 Max?

No, the little hole is for 95-96 Maximas, which mount the sensor on the stock airbox (and the hole is for relocating it). On 97-99, the sensor is mounted to the body of the car so you do not need to use the hole (I think the intake is the same for 95-99 Maximas).

I agree w/ Eric L.. the hole is for 1995/6 model--the temp. sensor plugs into the hole on the front of the intake (and a bit tricky to install). I installed my stillen hi flow last night (on my 96 se), but it took me awhile--but it's in now and sounds quiet at low rpms and growls at high rpms and WOT. One criticism--the directions were kinda vague; it was easy to remove the stock filter, but when installing the hi flow, i felt like i had to "figure it out" as opposed to following each step. stillen should get some tips from maximadriver.com--great directions there!!

Terminology may be a problem in this sitation. There is no sensor called Ambient Temperature Sensor.
There is an Ambient Sensor which is one of four sensors used in the Automatic Climate Control System. This sensor is attached to the radiator core support. It has nothing to do with the engine air intake.
There is an Intake Air Temperature Sensor, and it is located in the engine air intake duct just inches away from the starter motor. It is mounted in a grommet (one "t") which is a rubber ring. That is probably the sensor you are looking for.

I guessed I used the wrong terminology. I skimmed through the instructions and probably got the terms mixed up.
