ECU Code 0903

Looks like the EVAP canister is going south on the 97 Max. Does anyone have a part number (and approx. cost) along with pictures and/or instructions?

TIA!

Supposedly 0903 is undefined. But after a few weeks of searching the site, I found that its just a leak in the hose. Which hose? I dont know. Thats just what someone had said. Ive been riding around with this code for months.

I replaced mine several years back. It was like $75 from tustinnissan.com with maxima.org discount. Mine was full of sand and corrosion and wasn't closing properly. Easy replacement. Don't lose the rubber o-ring seal when you remove it.

Ok

I've had this code for over a year now, and I STILL don't know exactly what needs to be replaced. I've had people tell me it's the valve that sits behind the throttle body in the engine compartment, and others say its the "black box" behind the rear driver-side wheel.

I would like to take mine apart and try cleaning it first (yes, I know what the stickies say, but many people have said other things too.)

Come to think of it, after all these 0903 threads I've seen/participated in...

I think they were all 97's; interesting...

my 98 has the 0903 code. I changed the EVAP Canister vent control valve and the code went away. The old valve was rusty. It was about $80 from Courtesy Nissan.

is this the component in the engine bay behind the throttle body or inside the "black box" behind the driverside rear wheel?

It is on the side of the "black box" behind the rear wheel. It is held on to the box with two screws and has one wire going into it. Very easy to change out. Just make sure to spray the screws with some rust blaster so they dont break.

Do you remember what the part number is?
