i dont see a justifiable cause to spend 5X what i paid for the same crap. say what you want but i call SRE all the way with the $21 shipped price tag and lifetime warentee against breakage you cant go wrong.

I second that notion on the SRE STS. For 21 dollars shipped, how can you beat that?

I have the CE STS and I don't like it so much anymore... Yeah it's adjustable but the first time adjusted it and screwed the set screw in, it stripped on me. It also hits in 1,3,5 on the front and mine is set to less than 3/4. Of course some of this could be due to the shifter bushing as well, so I can't say 100%. I also have the 20th annv. shift **** and love it!

Sure, they garauntee it for life and will replace it when it breaks.

But, will they come out to tow your car a few thousand miles when you're on a road trip and your shifter breaks? Whoops, now you've spent 1000x the cost of your shifter to have your car towed, and then 5x to replace it with a B&M.

I love my B&M.

i dont know one person with the SRE that has had it break on them and it looks like a GREAT quiality piece. I daily slam gears and its holding up just great along with a dozen others i know that has had them for a while. Think what you want but ill take the risk at $21 i think its a great deal.

Ive had my SRE longer than joosdawg and echo, also Dave Sz had it before me, i tested it on daves car, and put it in mine. The quality in the welds looks great, and there have been no problems with it. ive had prob about 30 runs total at the track with this slamming into gears, and not a single problem, and dont forget the random spirited runs that i have

i hate when people are incompetent and spell ecKo wrong (mr. duck) lol. Yea, i also got the feel for the SRE in Dave Sz car as well. No problems with mine, and I also can be a little hard on it in the streets or at the track.

even though i don't have either, i'd have to say SRE considering the Courtesy is no longer made. I called them after they had stopped production/sale of it and they said they hoped to replace it within a few weeks, but that was early last summer, IIRC. and even till now, nothing has come to replace it. I would vouch for SRE as I have only heard surprisingly good comments for it and the price put me over the top. I hope to buy one from e-bay by the end of the week assuming they're aren't all gone on account of this thread.

its a lot shorter than stock height, and i use my AE shift **** with it. looks very nicely, especially with the shift boot i ordered from the GD. Ten times better than stock, the throws are significantly shorter, and no problems shifting. I dont get why you would pay so much more for simply a name. But maybe my thought process is messed up.

the B&M is a VERY nice shifter for our car. as someone pointed out to me earlier on another product, you are not just paying for the nambe but rather the peace of mind of having a quality product that will work as it is suppossed to as well as fit like a glove. a good brand usually has the customer service to back it up also, so if something does go wrong, it is not always a headache to resolve the problem.

however, $$$ is an issue for me and i just can't justify spending that much on just a shifter, where there seems to be a very decent one for a fraction of the cost. if the cheap one is in fact cheap, i will have learned a lesson the hard way, but also the cheap way. I am not worried about it breaking and getting stranded as it is steel and i don't tend to drive THAT spirited.

its a lot shorter... perfect height IMO, looks great, 1000 times better than stock.

oh and id say the welds are so so, im pretty positive they'll be fine for just a shifter and won't break, but on mine at least there was undercut on 3 out of the 4 welds.. it should hold up fine tho. undercut = weak welds

just buy it and see for yourself, its only 20 bucks

Joosdawg (or anyone that knows for that matter), is that a picture of the stick in 1st gear? If not, that's WAY to far forward for my tastes...
