thanks for the pics joosdawg. very nice! i don't think you have to be worried with it being too far forward in 1,3,5. is that the stock boot, also? i plan on getting the STS boot from the leather GD. i hope it will be a bit less bunched up, but even the stock one looks good enough.

10 cameras, eh... i have none *ahem* anyway, does ecko have the short boot from the GD? I would love to get that and I have the AE **** waiting at home! btw, your center console looks really clean with the deck down in the flip-down spot and the screen up top there.

i worried about switching *****. i don't want to destroy the stocker any more than i have to, but I also want to be REALLY careful with the AE. just wrap it in a towel or something? do those wrenches, that are just a rubber strap or something, work? that seems like a safe alternative. kinda like something that could be used to replace oil filter.

yes this fits your car just fine as it has the same size places for the shifter as 4th gens, go get one and be the first 5th gen with it and tell us how it is.

i had a stillen (which was arguably the best STS for 95-01) and i cut that off because it was too notchy. hopefully i'll have better luck with this and it works fine with upgraded bushings. thanks

Anybody else have an issue with the AE shift **** not tightening down quite as far as the stock ****? I don't have an STS yet by the way. There is about a 1/2 inch gap in between the bottom of the AE shift **** and my shift boot. My stock shifter is actually taller now than it was I've got it as tight as I can get it with my hand. Im a little afraid to use a pair of plyers or something cause it's made of leather.

hmm...it must not be threading right, or just needs to be tightened. they are basically the same **** and should fit just like stock. i have heard no others problems about it before. prehaps your boot slid down?

So I ordered my SRE sts and went back to my ebay account and saw a few negative feedback listings, most were like no bolt included or no grease included, but there were a few no contact complaints and took him a week to tell me he was sold out, and one is new, anyone else here have any probs with SRE parts??

Jar- the ONE crap part about that guy that sells them is that he absolutly NEVER responds to ANY emails period!! after eckohb ordered his i laughed cause he never got a response and it looked like he was a dead beat seller then it came to his door like 3 days after payment. Same thing happened to me, i sent like 5-6 emails asking for tracking and i got my shifter also in 3 days flat after the night i paid for it so that made up for it for me i guess. dont worry though he will come through for you he is never out of stock of the sts or so it seems its all good.

it says in the auction that some hardware is required, which would be a nut and a bolt.
