one of my rear taillights is out and im not sure what replacement i need.
here is a pic. the left one is out.. its the little one on the side of the car. below the red.

You mean the driver-side rear blinker? Just go to a parts store - they'll have a book and you can look it up.

 

I think it is 1157 I cant see the picture because Im in school and it blocks photobucket, but if it is the sidemarker below the red off to the far left side on the left side of the tailight then it is 1157

 

its not the blinker bulb thought. its hte little one that is normally behind hte red piece inside the housing. the regular blub works fine

 

Could it be the little 194 side marker bulb in the outer tail lights?

 

It is the little 194 bulb. I just took them out. The tails look better and you don't get any light from that bulb going into the turn signal. In your picture notice how the right signal light is partially lit up.

 

i know.. is that legal to take those out?? i wanted to but i wasnt sure if it was legal or not

 

I think some states require those side marker lights in the back. You'll have to google your state's traffic laws regarding rear lights.

They do look a little odd w the orange lense.
