My check engine light came on and i received a code that said i had a problem with my fuel injection system. Does this mean i need to change my front oxygen sensor, if not wahat could be wrong and how can i fix it?

0210
Diagnostic Trouble Code 0210 points to a problem with the fuel injection system. When the engine management system is running in closed-loop mode the Engine Control Unit (the computer) makes continual adjustments to maintain the air-fuel ratio near the ideal point. To achieve this it relies on signals from many sensors including the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the Oxygen Sensors.

This malfunction is detected when the ECM finds that it cannot properly control the air/fuel mixture, and the mixture is too lean (too much air). DTC 0210 indicates this problem exists on the left bank (the front bank, cylinders 2, 4, and 6). Possible causes include ...
- Intake air leaks
- Front Oxygen Sensor
- one or more fuel injectors on the front bank
- exhaust gas leaks
- incorrect fuel pressure
- lack of fuel
- Mass Air Flow Sensor

Since it's only for one bank, I would guess a bad front left heated o2 sensor. Do you have any other codes reported?

Were the o2 sensors replaced recently (or ever)?

i had the car for a year and it has 157,000 miles and i havent changed the o2 sensor. Do i need to change the fuel injection pump or the front o2 sensor. Can i do it myself or do i have to take it to a mechanic and how much will it cost?

Why don't you do everyone a favor (including yourself) read the stickys and learn ...

My car has 231k, and in the 144k that I've owned it, it's never had any O2's replaced, see how useless that was?

... Common sense would lean toward changing the O2 sensor since it's probably the cheaper and more likely to be dead ... It's an easy job, go to local part store, buy/order, rent O2 sensor socket, go home done ....
Sensor should be between 60 and 120, depending on where you get it.

sorry i don't know very much about the KS or O2 sensors. I am just wondering if the KS affects performance. I've heard that it will bring you down at least 30 HP and affect gas mileage. I had 3 O2 sensor codes and one replace KS code. I feel like the car is not performing as well as it should be and am thinking that if I replace the KS the car will have better pickup at low rpms. The car feels like it almost bogs when I am pinning it. It kind of hesitates before it goes. It resembles turbo lag.
