Morality in a gauge swap...

So, here's the story.... I have a 96 with 86,xxx miles on it. I have the boring black gauges with EL whites faces on them and they have never worked worth a crap with the needles. I have a new gauge cluster with the SE white gauges with 136,xxx miles on it that I am going to put in.... In the future I may wish to sell the car and would like to be honest regarding the miles. How do I do it in this situation?

IIRC you can have the dealer dial in the mileage....not sure about the cost though

I'd swap the plates but the needles are a ***** to try and take off and reattach and recalibrate.

To answer your question, if it's not too high in price, have a dealer dial the milage. If it is high in price, which most likely it is... just do it yourself. Take your time know exactly what you're doing. I used to have the black gauge face, but I replaced it with the white SE gauge face. My needles are fine. Took me a few hours though.

The dealer did it for me for about $45, seems steep for what it took him 10 minutes to do, but they were able to do it without messing up the gauges

Do you guys with whites gauges have any pics with differnet LEDs installed? That is step 2 after I get them.

I have blue led's and blue led needles. I kept the original white needles from my GLE instead of swapping with the clear needles from the SE cluster I got the face off of... personally I like them better. Sorry, no pics, but look around on cardomain... they look good.
