Just checking to see what type of HP gains you get from a high flow cat and what are some names of companys that make decent one's?

only worth it with super/turbo if you're paranoid about MAXimizing everything

Only with FI. No NA 4th gen will see appreciable gains from a high flow cat. I bought mine because Nissan wanted $800 for a stock replacement while Warpspeed wanted $85 for a high flow. They both carry the same warranty as mandated by FEDERAL law. Emissions laws here aren't strict at all...if your car has an OBDII ECU/PCM, they hook up a scanner and check for codes, that's it.

yeah, very little gains. hardly at all if you have stock exhaust. what is it..maybe 1-3 or something? definitely a gimmick. don't get a straighthru - why hurt the envirnoment even more? an OEM replacement cat will do ya just fine.

Not at $800 a pop it isn't. I'd rather pollute a little more and pay 1/10 the cost.

^^^sorry, i meant an OEM replacement part. not an OEM part. get a cat off ebay or something that replaces the OEM cat and meets emmisions standards for your area.

by no means get an OEM cat. THT, i totally agree.

Yep, very true. I actually just bought the one that Warpspeed sells and it fits great, no welding required, and it's actually made by Magnaflow. I'll be getting tested for emissions next week so hopefully it will pass. My 3rd gen maxima had the same cat and passed with flying colors.

You won't see much gains unless your current cat is defective.

I've got a straight pipe and noticed no gain in sound, so I would assume no change in high flow cat also. DO NOT get a straight pipe - they smell and are a waste of $, I'm going to put the stock back on once i figure out how to remove a rusted bolt in the stock.

Not likely. The straight pipe will yeild 1-2hp. The Hi-flow cat does not flow more then the straight pipe.
