How much longer will the clutch hold?

Yesterday while driving, decided to floor it in 5th gear going around 70. The RPMS were climbing quite fast, but the car barely accelerated. So I knew right then, my clutch was going. I'm just wondering how many more miles I have left before the clutch completely wears out.

No way anyone here could tell you that. My buddy drove on a slipping clutch for almost a year. I had one slip one week and fail the next. Just get it changed as soon as possible.

No seriously - it's not really possible to guess... we have no idea how you drive, and how bad the current clutch is and how good of a 5-spd driver you are (no offense intended).

Who knows? Each situation may be unique.

I tried to get an extra couple thousand miles out of an RX7 clutch way back in 1989 and was stuck on the side of the road, 15 miles from the nearest town on day 1 of a long weekend about 200 miles from home. Suffice it to say, the experience wasn't much fun.

By prolonging the replacement of your clutch you also might not end up doing your flywheel any favors.

I suggest you get it replaced sooner rather than later.

Decided to get it replaced ASAP. I have a new clutch on the way, dropping my cars off at my dads shop this weekend, go to Pismo and ride bikes and quads, come back on Sunday and enjoy my new 5th gen clutch. Ofcourse after the initial break-in.

Definately a good move. I wanted to wait after winter last year to replace my clutch with a 5th gen., but after it started to slip continuously in 3rd and 4th gear to the point it was making it dangerous to drive, I decided to have it replaced. That first feeling of being able to get all of the available power to the gound feels amazing.

Do what you can to keep the clutch alive as long as you can. Mines going out the door, but adjust the grab point, and a bleed will help bring it back to life (for a little longer).

I was about to wait until the clutch gave out completely, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Never know whats going to happen down the road, like most people have said.

very true, if you have the money of course get it fixed. I sadly dont and have to baby and make it last as long as possible. $3 bottle of synthetic brake fluid, and a bleed does wonders though.
