I was drivin da max today, not even gunnin it or anyhting, came to a stop light, then started a sheet metal type noise, dont hear it when i put hte brakes all the way down, but while in motion i hear it on/off, any idea's ?

 

Its most likely either your pads are worn down completely, or the brake dust shields rubbing the rotor (they need to be bend back out of the way).

 

my money is on the brakes being shot.

 

I actually had the same noise occur on my maxima, it ended up being a rock that had bounced up and gotten lodge between the rotor and the brake dust shield.

 

pads are going, the metal's rubbing against the rotors.

 

either your pads are shot or the dust shield is rubbing. When i reinstalled my knuckles the shields rubs like a ****, just whak where it rubs with a hammer and its golden.
