Who has an owner's manual?

I get the sense that the vast majority of 4th Gen owners do not have an owner's manual, let alone the work history of their vehicle prior to buying it.

It baffles me why the previous owner(s) would not provide the owner's manual and if they aren't willing to provide the maintenance history they must be hiding something.

Comments please.

2nd owner, owners manual, business cards, original bill of sale... no receipts of work done.
It was all done at the dealership, and the owner woked there, so didn't feel like keeping them I guess..

I bought my car used but I have it all, including the binder and the homelink programming instruction card. My car was owned by some lady in a rich snotty town, and the service records were all from the dealer. I also have an FSM which I bought

Well it looks like I was wrong about the % of owner's with an owner's manual.

I guess I should have added a question: Of the owner's who have an owner's manual, have you actually opened it up and read it?

Bobo - you hit the nail on the head. It's no different from:

"What % of members know about the stickies?"
95%

"What % of the members that are aware of the stickies have read them?
10%

This may be OT, but the reason I posted this thread was because I was gettin p!ssed off with the stupidity going on in the thread relating to who warms their car up and I was trying to get a sense of how many actually have an owner's manual.

The owner's manual specifically recommends at least a 30 second warm up and then drive off slowly, particularly when its cold. Based on the responses, one would swear a great many people never read this. Yet a lot of the owner's who don't warm their car up, may well be the same one's who swear by 3,000 mile OCIs and 93 octane gas, go figure!

bought my 97 used from a nissan dealer in 98 and got the owners manual, the warranty book and the black plastic pouch. the butt fu**ers wanted $80 for the remote! the salesman opened a desk drawer to show me one and he must of had 2 dozen in there so when he went to do some paperwork stuff, I became the proud owner of one.

back to the thread, i also have the owners manual as a PDF file.

Second owner, came with an owner's manual however it's from a 96 Maxima, so I'm assuming the previous owner lost the original and bought the current one. I also have the leather pouch with the business card.

LOL. Me too, even the section on automatics, tho mine's manual. I memorized the shift points too, but they didn't match my driving style.

Hmm... I have PDF Factory Service Manuals from 1993 to 2004, but no owners manuals.

first thing i bought for the max except that full tank of gas. 3rd owner i think. had all the papers from the 2nd owener but before that im lost. i have read most of the manual but its not the kind of reading im into, so i havent read it again and have probably forgotten most of it. i guess thats why they make it so you can refer back to it and not waste space on the forum

Why do you guys keep calling the owner's manual holder 'leather'? It is far from leather.
