Domestic Rice, Blown Audis, Slow preludes, American Muscle and my Max (Long but cool)
Subscribei've had quite a few races over the last few days. here are some highlights.
I see a silver A4 pulling up to the light in the lane next to me, as it gets beside me, holy crap, its the owner of the shop i used to work at. This car used to be incredible (still is a nice car). Used to have a BTCC inspired body kit and 18" Racing Dynamics touring wheels, oh yeah, and a P.E.S. supercharger. It's a 1999.5 A4 2.8L Quattro... it was fast back when i'd driven it. Anyhow we talked for a second and the light turned green... and I proceded to walk him. 4-5 lengths by 100 after he got a significant jump on me due to his AWD advantage and some carbon-kevlar-crackhead clutch he said he'd installed a few weeks ago. Needless to say, he wasn't supercharged anymore. He still has his SuperSprint exhaust and whatever intake he had, don't know the brand, and it's still lowered on B&G full coilover system. It was cool, and I was happy.
Next was a 88-91 style prelude SI, with 17s and an exhaust. Some younger kid and his buddy, with their visors on upside down and tilted to the side, not that there's anything wrong with that. They looked and revved, they proceded to get walked to 60, thats all it took. probably had 5 lengths by 60.
The following day (yesterday) i pulled up next to a Sunfire GT with dual aftermarket exhaust, 17" Enkei RSEs, lowered, headlight and taillight blackouts, and some goofy drip-tint (the little blobs of tint on the top of the front side windows... you may or may not know what im talking about.)
I could see he had a bunch of stuff in the car, there was a bathroom lighting fixture poking over his shoulder, so i didn't pick a race. He did though... without warning when the light turned he gunned and it became readily apparent that he had an intake as well. He broke the tires loose for a second, about as long as it took me to react and punch it after a normal speed take off. I had 3-4 lengths by 60 and decided that was enough.
So, at the next light down the road, the car that was behind the Sunfire pulls up next to me. I'd seen it in my rearview earlier. It was a Firebird. Not just any old firebird, but a 98-2001 SLP Firehawk. The Pontiac equivalent of the SS Camaro, whereas the regular Trans Am equals a Z28 Camaro. He looked over, and started revving, wow was it loud. I just smiled and shook my head. He smiled back. Light turned green, and I proceded to get destroyed. He took me by about 4 lengths up to 75, and was still steadily walking me when I decided ok, enough. We were next to eachother at the next light, and I waved and he waved back as he turned left. I knew he'd destroy me, but I couldn't pass up the race, because my roommate used to have a firehawk, and I'd been wondering just how badly I'd get beaten, now I know. I suppose its time for an intake, y-pipe, b-pipe, and an 80 shot of laughing gas

Shouldn't the Pontiac equivalent to a Camaro SS be a WS6(hope I got that right)? I thought the Firehawk is a very special edition of the Firebird. Shouldn't it be even more powerful than a WS6?

There is very little difference between the Firehawk and the WS-6.
My friend in highschool had a 93 Firehawk. That was one bad car. We used to race guys in Z28's and T/A's who had no idea what it was.
They always looked so suprised as we sped off into the distance...

The Firehawk is a step up from the WS6 (Ram-air firebird). It has a stiffer suspension, better intake, more free-flowing (and much much louder) exhaust, and only gets produced in limited numbers. A little bit quicker than a z-28 or an SS but not by much. Still a kick-*** car that is fairly rare. By the way, even with all the future mods you want he'll still probably take you. But you'll have a quick car. Hehe

Even though the WS6 is the eqivilent of an SS, it is still a little faster. It was proven by a test by Popular Mechanics magazine. The Firehawk, as previously mentioned, is even faster than the WS6.
