Headlight Harness Upgrade

I have some higher wattage headlight bulbs and recently my lights stopped woking and so I looked at the socket to determine the cause and it was melted....If I am to upgrade my headlight harness, what is the preferred route to take?! As in what bulbs, harnesses, and wires will work the best and not melt the socket or housing any longer?! Thanks!

Best bet if you dont wanna melt the harness again is to get normal wattage bulbs. 65/45w.

Another route you can take would be to get a upgraded harness. Either make one or buy one. And then use you high wattage bulbs. like 100/80w or something.

I bought a 9007 upgraded harness from NTBK on ebay for my 9007 conversion. It works great.

there are high heat sockets you can buy. I found a pair at Advanced Auto for $12.88+tax. They are rated to something around 485*F.
