Lowering my car
Lowering my car
if i lower my car about 1.3 inches, will the ride be very bumpy because the new springs will be more stiff? i have heard that from a friend but i was not sure what lowering my car 1.3 inches will do.
i need some opinions and advise from people who have lowered their car.
thanks

it will be a stiffer, rougher ride obviously. you can probably get away with riding on stock struts for a short while. some last a year or more, others blow in only a month or so. just save up and do it right the first time. the only thing that will improve from dropping on stock struts will be the look of the car, definitely not the handling.
I would not say that its only the look. As a matter of fact i maxed out at 60 on the same turn with stock springs. Lowered my car....um cant realy say how low but...the lowest I could go, and I went through the same turn at about 75. Maybe its just in my mind or i was just too afraid to go faster on stock springs, but i shure feel less wobble when jerking the wheel.

I'm assuming you guys are talking about the H&R springs? If So then the ride won't be too bad as long as you get some good adjustable shocks(illuminas). The springs will also make your car handle better. It will still reach its limits at low speeds if you have the stock tires on. I'de say that is the most important part of the suspension: the tires. My illuminas actually feel softer than stock.
no matter what if you lower the car on springs the ride will be rougher. i notice no bounce on my setup but i also got the illuminas with it. if you want a smoother ride you will want to go coil over.
