You can find them cheap on Ebay... however the HPs are not that popular around here. They have a habit of blowing out, from what I've been told. I think the KYB GR2s are more popular for non-adjustable struts. I'm running AGXs

How do you like the AXG's

I am looking at putting the AXG's on with stock springs. Are you happy with them? My ride is a driver and I want the option of a bit stiffer ride but do not have plans to lower her.

Are the AXG's worth it over the GR2's?

Thanks

Nate

KYB units, both the GR-2 and AGX, are very firm even on the softest settings. If you really don't mind a firm ride all around on the stock set up then KYB's might be ok for you.

The Tokico Illuminas ride amazing on the stock springs, very smooth on softer settings which is nice for long trips, and they easily adjust to firm things up for a very sporty feel. They cost a bit more, but the price is justified by the way they perform.

The Blues will give you that "new car like" ride back. Soft and smooth, yet controlled ride.

HP's don't blow out per say. Buddy of mine with an I30 has over 100K miles on them with the stock springs. The car still rides excellent.

I think the main issues with "blues" are related to lowered cars. I know other people with "blues" on their cars, the results have been about the same as Max orgers. When used as a replacement shock they work fine. When used as a high performance strut with lowering springs they have a short life span (similar to using a factory strut with high performance springs) I like the AGXs on my car however the ride is harsh and stiff (alot has to do with my springs). As mentioned the Illuminas will provide a better ride. If you happy with the stock springs and don't plan on any upgrades the "blues" may work fine for you. They should restore your ride to stock.
