but i believe it is 2.25" all the way back, not accounting for crush bends, of course.

wtf why? might as well upgrade the 2.5 piping with the bpipe, i mean youll get a little more gains, and the car will breathe properly. if you get a 18inch resonator your fine
yea the stock piping is 2.25 i believe, 2 inches come with most 4cylinders stock

many people running high HP cars have 2.25 piping....
Depends on what his plans for the car are...
If he's wanting to go with a few mods, and have a quiet car, then 2.25" piping would work better for him....
But I would go with 2.5", big resonator, and a nice muffler either way....

where'd you get this from? bigger pipings don't cause more turbulence. it's the obstructions like bends, and o2 sensors that cause turbulence. bigger pipings actually help the flow to be more laminar than turbulent given the fixed exhaust flow velocity.
turbulence is caused by an object for structure that sits perpendicular to the direction of the flow. the obstruction causes swirls that the flow goes around it to "dodge" the obstructions. increasing the piping size will help "damp out" the effect of the obstruction allowing a more stable and laminar flow: less turbulent.

well my is not done yet but my mechanic told me the my pipe were around 2.25" and theres no need on getting any size bigger and these guys they know wat they are talking about he told me just get a better silencer and would do the trick...they also had build my old 88civic with the integra eng way before people knew wat a integra eng swap was.. low 13's back on 99
any ways. me im just getting a magnaflow or something like that ... somebody else can said yeah buy it and we put in.. but he said i will loose some low end power so im sticking to my stock and just upgrade my silencer

My car when I bought it, has 2.5" piping without a resonator and a Apexi WS knock-off muffler. It sounded really nice, then I put the ypipe on it and its really loud. At cruise around 60, you can't hear it, but if I put my foot back into it, the whole cabin fills up with noise.
Here in the winter I will be purchasing a huge resonator and a 3.5 Altima muffler.

I dont get why you would want to get 2.25 piping. Not to take anything away from BlueC, but theres tons of people on here myself included that didnt experience any low end loss with a b-pipe. Besides, the gains from a b-pipe are barely noticable with 2.5, and I would think 2.25 piping and just removing the crush bends is just going to feel like stock. And dont be worried about the sound as long as you are keeping a stock muffler.

2.5" piping is done as an early investment if you are going to heavily mod your car, N/A. if you are stopping right there, then 2.25 or 2.5, like you said, won't make a noticeable difference. but if you are going all the way, doing all N/A mods, 2.5 all the way is what you will need. since 2.5 or 2.25 doesn't make such a difference now, think of the long run, you may need it. because it's always a btch that you upgrade more and having to upgrade that pipe again. just an investment suggestion. if you are not going too far with modding, then 2.25" piping isn't going to be your concern at all.
