Is it my o2 sensor? Please help me...

Okay, so here is the story. I installed a WS y pipe today. Took a little time but that is okay. When the y pipe came off, the o2 sensors were still attatched and the rear o2 sensor was jerked pretty hard. I didnt think too much of it so i just took them off and went on with the install.

After it was all installed i drove the car for a while and it was feeling really wierd. Throtle responce was all messed up. It even back fired twice (or it sounded like backfire) Now at the end of the night my check engine light is on... I'm going to go check it tomorrow but does anyone know of a reason, or a posible common theme of a y pipe side effect.

Thanks guys,
Art

Very well could be, the day i had my y-pipe installed my o2 sensor got screwed up by the installer. I guess they're fragile?

Just pull that code and you will know for sure. Porbably that o2 sensor is bad. Its not too hard to replace. Just follow the wire up to the top of the engine bay and you will find the end of the harness. Just unplug it, plug in teh new one and drop it back down.

why do you want a "lean/rich air/fuel gauge"
Do you have some kind of modification that is going to change the A/F ratio controlled by the STOCK ecu???????
There really is no point spending so much money on a wideband, and an expensive wideband o2 gauge, if you don't have FI, spray, or if you have an safc or other fuel computer hooked up to change the a/f ratio.

Ok, I will run the code today. How much do o2 sensors usually go for? And is what i explained usually what happens when o2 sensors are bad? idle droping too low and sputtering a little, and not as responsive at lower rpms.

When you put a performance y-pipe on, I would think that you want to bypass you're secondary 02 sensors with an 02 sensor simulator, or else you will get a CEL. I'm in the process of doing that, as I just installed a cattman y-pipe.

O2 Sensor Simulator??? The Downstream O2 Sensor does not affect A/R Ratio. First of all, your downstream O2 Sensor is in your Cat or B-Pipe and should not be touched during the install. Second, I have never heard of anyone using O2 Sensor simulators after a y-pipe install.

Ya, what the hell are you talking about? Why would you need a simulator and why would you get a CEL after a ypipe install?
