so i went twice to get oil leaks fixed on my 98 gxe

first time, they replaced the oil switch and lower oil pan. then the guy realized that the thing was still leaking, and figured out it was the upper oil pan and didnt charge me for the lower.

i had to go in today to get the upper pan done (i didnt have time/money at that time), and it was still leaking, so the guy was like wtf. basically i didnt get charged for the oil pans, just oil changes. but the guy thought the only other place it can be leaking from is the timing chain cover, which he couldnt see because something was in the way (im very motor illiterate), but he could bet money on the fact that it was the timing chain cover.

he says that this sorta thing doesnt happen often, if ever, and hes never done any job like this. this is a busy place with reputable mechanics as well, they have never ****ed me over, and have even waived 4-500 dollars because they didnt fully fix the job either time. so i trust him.

has anyone else ever had this problem? if so, whats the best way to go about fixing this? the mechanic said theyd probably have the take the whole engine out to work on it. any ideas? help? im desparate.

:

1. We need some pics to help identify the leak
2. It's time to find a more competent mechanic/shop

maybe this info will help....my water pump was leaking so went to the shop to get it fix and i was watching the mechanic working on my car. He took timing chain cover off in order to get water pump off, replaiced pump and reseal the cover...so im guessing if your the cover is leaking it wont be to expensive to reseal it, i paid $300 for the pump.
